Social Media & Video
Colorado State Social Media
I am part of a two-person team that manages CSU Admissions’ social media accounts. I post 2-4 times per week on multiple platforms, coach staff and students on takeovers, and collaborate with alumni, professors, and students to create content and share compelling stories about CSU and its community. Additionally, I monitor and report weekly on our social media performance using analytics.
From a copy standpoint, some of my best social media work lives within an Instagram series we refer to as “beauty shots”. These posts showcase campus, Fort Collins, and surrounding areas with captivating photos and evocative copy.
“Mountain views from the lagoon, velvet-soft grass, green as far as the eye can see ... If we could transform the "ah" experience at #ColoradoState into a photo — that perfect moment when you have a few minutes to stop, breathe deep, and take it all in — this would be it.”
“POV: You wake up to a fresh coat of fluffy Colorado powder. Outside, the untouched flakes shimmer in the vibrant morning sun, and the sky above is strikingly blue. It's time to head to class, and nothing says winter at Colorado State like a crisp walk on campus with the satisfying crunch of snow underfoot. At the CSU Oval, a group of freshmen are having a snowball fight. On the plaza, students and professors sip steaming drinks and laugh. You take a deep breath of Colorado air. This is winter at CSU. Want to see the vibes up close? Here's a minute of winter, just for you.”
“There's just something about a warm summer night in Fort Collins. Free outdoor concerts, the drive-in movie theater, a bustling food scene, sunsets at Horsetooth Reservoir ... it's a big ol' sip of "ahh" with a warm breeze and an air of carefree goodness. Happy summer FoCo Friday! ☀️🍔🍿📽️🎸 Learn more about this magical place we call home: link in bio.”
I wanted to do something fun (but not over the top) for Halloween on our Instagram a few years ago. I didn’t have access to a photographer for this project, so I procured a balloon and headed to the campus bridge with just my idea and a phone camera. While the copy is simple, I’m proud of the concept, the CSU twist on the balloon color, and the massive reaction we received.
We continually seek creative ways to announce the opening of our application each August. This is one of my favorites; I created every aspect of it, from the video and animations to the music selection and the copy. For me, the copy completes the aspirational vibes created by the visuals and music.
This is a video series I created to help prospective students learn about career opportunities available with CSU majors. I feature one major per month. I handle all aspects of the project, including copywriting, video production, music selection, editing, and execution.
Video Copy & Concept: Introducing the ASL Minor
When CSU's Languages Department launched a comprehensive American Sign Language minor and asked Admissions to help promote it to prospective Rams, I wanted to announce it in a unique way. I recruited a CSU student in the program, wrote her a script, and we filmed the video in ASL.
Prairie Dawn Pottery Social Media
My pottery business has provided a wonderful opportunity to explore building a social media following from the ground up. I have approached this with a strategy of maintaining an authentic voice, consistent posting, and a blend of engaging and concise copy. I post a combination of photos and videos to show the process and finished products.
