Prairie Dawn Pottery

When your entire world is words, branding, creative strategy, and storytelling, you sometimes just need another creative outlet that turns all the letters off and lets your hands do the creating. I’ve been creating and selling pottery for over five years now. And, while you might think this has nothing to do with my professional life, let me tell you how having a small business means you wear every hat. This venture has helped me become a better marketer, content creator, operations expert, website designer, photographer, and so much more.

I’ve also learned that if you truly love what you create, others will, too. Every time I try a new design, it’s because that design is something I’d want in my collection. I’ve learned that to keep your work out there, you have to be consistent about posting it, showing your process, and being authentic about what you do and why you do it — because if you do that, others will feel it, too. I’ve learned that consistency is KEY with social media, as is consistently engaging with your audience, responding thoughtfully (and often), and lifting up other artists like yourself.

I was lucky enough to be featured as a local artist in a Denver magazine. The best part is that they let me tell my own story in my own words. Check out my pottery journey in Voyage Denver now:
