Email Copy & Concepts
Over the past 17+ years, my email work has ranged from one-off informational emails to year-long campaigns sent to hundreds of thousands of recipients. In the past seven years at CSU, I have collaborated on email concepts and strategy, writing copy for a significant portion of current and ongoing emails, numbering in the thousands. Here is a selection of emails for which I have written copy and collaborated on strategy. My email copywriting includes subject lines, preheaders, headlines, body copy, and calls to action (CTAs).
This email is part of our 'onboarding' campaign, introducing prospective students to CSU's campus culture, academics, and energy. This is often the first email our early prospective students receive from us.
I collaborate with our marketing partners in the eight academic colleges to introduce our newly admitted students to their majors.
The first time we sent this email we received this response from a prospective student: “Whoever wrote those little paragraphs deserves a raise.” I love when my copy resonates enough to prompt a student to reply with praise.
It's not hard to write exciting, inspiring, energy-filled copy about Fort Collins to show students why venturing beyond campus is just as enjoyable as being on campus.
This email showcases my blog series, How I Chose My Major. I started this series many years ago to highlight academics and the personal journey to academic success.
Aspirational, inspirational copy captures attention and evokes an emotional response that leaves a lasting impression. Much of the email copy I write aims to achieve this. Many colleges send emails, and we are all trying to achieve the same goal. Connecting with people through CSU’s unique energy is how we get remembered.
